VILLA DEL ARCO, CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO

Overheard: “Do you think the resort can get us a babysitter with this short of notice?”

Peter Pan is alive and well and living out his days in Cabo. At Villa del Acro the pirate ship bar is IN the pool and we don’t think it’s there for the actual kids. For those who refuse to grow up, and prefer to do so by the sea, drink in hand, this place is calling.

The pool area is actually 3 separate pools, all of them with water features and lined with palm trees, umbrellas, and that super-chill Cabo vibe.

When we were there, the place felt brand new. Recent construction in the classic Spanish Hacienda style, only using more dry wall than actual plaster. It feels fresh and clean, inviting, but not all that historical. After the Cabo sun has it’s way with it, it might be a bit worse for wear. But only time will tell.

There’s a kid pool (for the actual pint-size kids) but it is very shallow…like 2 inches of water shallow. The sprinklers are nice and a wee-tot would probably have tons of fun splashing about while mom and dad enjoy the libations offered on the pirate ship. Older kids will love the pirate ship, but might not understand it’s not for playing on in the kid-play sense. Families would probably like this neighboring property a bit more.
