READER SWIM/GUEST POST: FAIRMONT ACAPULCO PRINCESS POOLS, ACAPULCO, MEXICO

Here’s a guest post (our first!) from a reader, and another of our favorite travel bloggers, Travel Glitter’s Monica Poling:

It seems Acapulco just can’t catch a break, when it comes to the media.
Still when you’re ensconced in the grounds of the Fairmont Acapulco
Princess, it’s pretty easy to forget that anything exists outside the

resort’s entry gate.

No doubt the resort’s five free form pools help keep guests entertained for days.

Two of the pools feature swim-up bars, because who really wants to work too
hard to get a margarita? There’s also a saltwater pool on site, and our
favorite pool sports a tropical “river” complete with waterfalls and a
lagoon.

If you tire of the pool scene (but really how could you?) you can head over to the all-you-can-eat buffet, which features seafood grilled to order, and make-your-own ceviche.

From late August through early December kids can learn about the environment while helping protect it, by helping liberate baby turtles from the turtle farm located right on site. Or they can help the chef bake cookies-using his secret recipe.

Here are some of the resort’s photos:
