HOTEL POOLS CATERING TO LOCAL RESIDENTS WSJ link
There’s a Wall Street Journal piece this week on hotel pools catering to local residents. These are places that for a monthly or yearly fee, allow locals to be “members” or have day-use access of pools, spas, health clubs. They mostly talk about the Rosewood Sand Hill resort in Menlo Park, California (pictured above). But we have seen this here and here as well. Maybe it’s a Northern California thing?
My favorite quote from the piece: “I do have a swimming pool in my backyard, but no one comes through and offers me water and cleans my lounge chair,” says Ms. Jones, a 62-year-old retired marketing executive. We know exactly how you feel Ms. Jones.
