WESTIN LA PALMA RESORT, TUCSON, AZ

Yeah, okay, it’s almost August and if you visited this property now, you’d probably have to put up with triple digit temperatures and air so dry you can’t even spit. And don’t even get us started on the issues you just might encounter if you happen to have skin darker than cardboard in the great state of Arizona. But aside from all that, the Tucson Westin does boast a pretty spectacular pool oasis.

5 pools, a 177 foot long water slide (42 inch heigh requirement), cactus-flanked cabanas and poolside suites, dive-in movies in the summer, waterfalls and a swim-up bar—it’s the real deal. Wristbands are issued in the high season and they do enforce them, so sneaking in isn’t all that doable.

If you’re currently stuck in an office cubicle, vacation days, frequent flyer miles and travel budgets long-since exhausted, you might look at these photos as eye candy, dream fodder….or maybe even torture…it’s all how you look at it.
