WE WISH WEDNESDAY: RITZ-CARLTON, DOVE MOUNTAIN, MARANA, ARIZONA

In a post-apocolypic, not-so-distant future, archeologists who stumble upon the ruins of The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain hotel pool will certainly be confused. Is this ancient-ancient, from the 21st century, or like, super mega ancient from several billion years ago? 

   To us, this is what a hotel pool as imagined by the Mayans or the Incans would look like.  And, there are water slides too:

Notice how it slaloms around the cacti as if they were smooth orange cones instead of prickly-thorned sentinels.

It’s on a golf course, surrounded by hiking and biking trails through the mountains. In the winter, they even do swim-up hot chocolate in the kid pool. Before it gets so hot that the ground becomes a sole-burning hot plate, we wish we were there, NOW.
