They’re mostly food offerings, specially prepared meals and cabana services. But also some properties offer spa treatments, complimentary snacks and also scalp treatments, advanced copies of new novels, and more.

No mention of those delightful frozen grapes we sampled at the pool at Pelican Hill a few years back, or sunscreen concierge service like that at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay.

But it does makesfor some nice cubicle-escapism just before Memorial Day.

And speaking of poolside food, the San Diego U-T (I think that stands for Union-Tribune, but they don’t actually say on their website.)  did a nice piece on eating poolside and “floating around” even when you aren’t staying at a particular hotel. No pictures, but it’s got some good ideas if you’re looking for a San Diego Hotel Swimming Pool adventure.
